Since you have  you have it setup like the following?

+- Page with Archive Behavior
    |
    +- Page with Monthly Archive Index behavior
    |
    +- First Post
    |
    +- Second Post

The Monthly index should be a child of the page with the archive 
behavior (on the same level as the posts).
