[Radiant] Bring values from database

Hi,

i am very new to ROR, and hoping to convert my organizations web-site 
which is in .php format to a radiant cms on the local machine, and 
managed to get it work for static contents, but the problem is.. on a 
particular webpage we bring certain values from the database 
dynamically, whereas in radiant each and every content is from the 
radiant_dev database, is there a possibility of adding another database 
or the table to the existing structure of the radiant_dev database and 
bring the dynamic value to a web page or is there any other solution to 
bring data dynamically. thanks in advance.
