Hi all,
It's good to see there's some enthusiasm again for building the Radiant docs.
These recent addidtions :
* http://dev.radiantcms.org/radiant/wiki/Installation
* http://dev.radiantcms.org/radiant/wiki/UsingRadiant
are great !
We need more like that. John compiled the start of a list of subjects he thinks
might be good starting points for us to start writing. Here's the list:
* Installation Docs
As more and more people are starting to install Radiant on their
servers we need to have some coherent documentation on how to install
Radiant with a variety of setups. Information on Lighty, Apache, and
Mongrel should probably all be on the agenda. What Larry Myers pulled
together in the handbook is a good start, but more detail is needed.
* A General Overview
We need a document which introduces Radiant and gives a birds eye view
of it's features.
* Documentation for Radius Tags
While documentation for the tags available on each page is available
in the source code, we need something more official. I've pulled
together some information in the Tagging Primers, but a more detailed
document is needed.
I'd like to suggest we divide these three subject amongst each other.
I have no idea
at this point how many of you there are on the list but I'm sure there
are enough of
us, so to speak, to pull this off.
The way I look at it, multiple persons can work on 1 subject. Myself
I'd like to get
started on the overview article but it would be great if someone
helped me with that,
I don't have an abundance of time on my hand unfortunately, but I
still think I can
manage, if someone helps out.
So how about it, dear list ? Shall we get this show on the road ?
Radiant is doing well,
it's turning heads, let's give 'm some greats docs to look at.
